What's New (past 90 days)

It’s been a long road back.

After more than a year of being locked out of the site, I was finally able to regain access with the help of Darrin Lythgoes—the developer behind the site’s framework. Unfortunately, the recovery required a complete reset, which meant losing all prior content, user accounts, and connections. That loss hit hard.

Over the past several days, I’ve been painstakingly reinstalling the site's foundational .gedcom file. The data is coming back slowly, but things are still fragile. Many names are missing, images are unlinked, documents didn't reattach as they should have—and yes, the broken links are everywhere.

For now, the site is semi-functional. My next step will be to source a clean, verified copy of my personal .gedcom file, ensure that all sources and media files are intact and properly referenced, and upload that version for a complete restore. If the stars align, everything will link correctly.

This process will take time. I'm one person, managing multiple websites and writing projects. But LookingBackwards.net will be restored, piece by piece.

Thank you for your patience, and for believing in the legacy work we're doing here.
