    Notes
    • Per Mary Jane PIPES Frank: According to Katie Pipes Kantowski, Margaret and Minnie Barclay came to Texas on a wagon train in the 1800's from Ohio. Two brothers came with them, one died on a freight train and one died of cancer. Minnie had a red headed son in Ohio named John Anders who had a son named Lee. According to Elsie Rogers Douglas, Mr. Anders died in the woods-a tree fell on him. Minnie was 14 years old when she had John. At 15 she was married to Jim Ely. John Anders was raised by colored folks that lived and worked for Jim Ely. It is said that Jim didn't want John and that is why the colored folks raised him there on the property. Margaret Barclay (Barkley) lived with Minnie and Jim off and on. Records indicate that John W. Andrews, son of Minnie Barclay was born in Texas. Though, the same record indicates that his father was born in Arkansas and his mother, Minnie was born in Texas. We know that Minnie was born in Cincinnatti, Ohio. The above mentioned record is the 1890 Federal Census Fragment for Trinity. The above information is not totally correct. Minnie married her first husband on Feb. 16, 1882 in Angelina, Texas. They had a son John, who had a son named Lee. Minnie, Margaret, Louisa Jane, Amanda, Samuel and Albert Barclay were all in Texas in 1880 in Houston County, , Texas. This is according to records that I have copied in my Family Tree book.
