  TEXT: 9, 122, 225, 239 The following is per RENA MAE CLARK MITCHELL, February 20, 1991: Raymond Eugene was born december 18, 1931 at new Home, Texas. He attended school in Slaton, Texas, Hobbs, New Mexico and Carlsbad, New Mexico. He graduated after he went into the navy. He served during the Korean War as a radioman. He nearly lost his arm while working for Potash Company of America, a potash mine in Carlsbad. He was International Representative for the Stone Workers Union, covering Arizona, New Mexico and Utah for fifteen years. He had a nervous breakdown and quit the union after a long strike of ninety-two days. He and his family moved to El Paso, Texas, where he got in the Steel Workers Union and became an iron worker. After a few years he went to Chili and fell and almost died. He came home with a doctor and a nurse in attendance. He never worked anymore. He shot himself and died November 28, 1976. He married Faye Johnson about 1953 and they had threr sons:Steven Ray, who is not married and is a certified welder and now going to school to be an electrical engineer. He is not married and lives in Colorado Springs with his mother. Micheal lives in Sugarland, Texas, where he works for Hughes Tool Company. He married Tonya upon graduation and she is a registered nurse. Jeffery lives in the Houston area and manages a men's store. He is not married. Faye lives in Colorado Springs, Colorado and sells real estate. Raymond was a member of BPO Elks #1558.
